A hidden gem in Alentejo, Campinho, next to Monsaraz, one of Portugal’s most beautiful small towns. Casa Campinho’s concept is unique mixing design, food, nature.

Exclusive, comfortable and with stunning views, this 65-hectare (160-acre) property of natural landscape was discovered, acquired and restored by the acclaimed Star Portuguese chef and his wife. It was love at first sight when they saw this unique, magical place. With comfortable suites and several sitting rooms, inside and outside, the house is surrounded by centennial holm oaks, native plants, fruit trees, fragrant herbs, and a vegetable garden where each season’s best produce flourishes.

A discreetly sophisticated space where meals are signed by chef José Avillez, voted top 50 best chefs in the world. Today, Jose Avillez has several restaurants in Portugal (Lisbon, Cascais and Porto), in Dubai and in Macau, each with its own concept, but all expressing his passion for cuisine. The atmosphere is discreetly sophisticated yet relaxed and a selection of pieces of traditional Portuguese craftwork curated by Felipa Almeida. Portuguese and a chef, Jose Avillez’s mission is to promote Portuguese gastronomy and contribute to making Portugal a top gastronomic destination.

There is so much to do and explore in this region…relax on the lake, boat trip, by the pool, morning yoga, ballon flights, wine tasting, cinema sessions, music (this is a passion of the owner). The property has direct access to Alqueva’s lake, one of the largest and most beautiful in Europe. You’ll also find a small river beach where you can rest and enjoy the sun and a peer from where to dive. The private moorage offers the opportunity to enjoy many water sports. Here you’ll also find the estate’s boat that’s meant for nautical activities with the presence of a professional skipper. These activities depend on prior reservation and are charged separately. Next to the pools, you’ll find a small sauna and a Turkish bath where you can relax and Massage Hut, Yoga Pavilion and Gym. With stunning views overlooking the lake, the hut is ideal for a yoga session, a massage, or simply relaxing. The hut also includes a workout room that you can use freely.

• Each room is carefully prepared. The king-size beds are made with Egyptian cotton sheets and the best pillows for a perfect night’s rest.

• The house has several ample and comfortable living and dining areas, both indoors and outdoors. The ex libris are the magnificent porch, wine cellar, bar and library, entertainment and cinema room.
