Banwa is located in Northeast Palawan, a still relatively undiscovered archipelago, but one of the most biodiverse in existence. When you stay at Banwa, the island is entirely and exclusively yours... an experience like no other and a retreat in which to be completely at one with family and friends.

The island’s six villas offer contemporary design and informal luxury, each one its own private sanctum within the larger island sanctuary. The villas are discreetly oriented across the island, granting guests absolute privacy whenever sought – although separated by a simple stroll along the golf greens, through the wildlife reserve or along the water’s edge. Larger groups can be accommodated at your own mini hotel - the Axis Garden Rooms, offering a further 12-deluxe double bedrooms, taking the island’s capacity to 46 – and featuring its own pool, dining and conference areas, and first-floor terrace overlooking the island.

The strong sense of community and connection to the ocean provided the inspiration for the naming of the island, and the culture and philosophies of the Tagbanwa people are strongly reflected in the overall ethos of Banwa. This is fundamental to the guest experience, and the island’s staff are further evidence of the authenticity of the vision.

Location & access:

As well as being near to the best of Palawan, Banwa can be reached in under two hours from Hong Kong, or under an hour from Manila, via private jet followed by a 10-minute heli ride from San Vicente. Alternatively, the island provides excellent access to Puerto Princesa.
